Election 2024: Explosion Kills 15 Near Candidate’s Office in Pishin

A devastating blast rocked the election office of Asfandyar Kakar, a candidate for PB-47 and former provincial minister, in Balochistan’s Pishin on Wednesday, resulting in the tragic death of at least 15 people and leaving several others injured. This incident adds to the ongoing wave of terrorism plaguing the country, with security personnel and political candidates often being targeted.

According to local officials, the explosion specifically targeted Asfandyar Kakar’s election office. Immediate response teams and rescuers swiftly arrived at the scene, with efforts underway to transfer the deceased and injured to the Pishin District Headquarters Hospital for urgent medical treatment. Critically injured individuals are expected to be transported to the provincial capital, Quetta.

Preliminary investigations suggest that the blast was caused by explosive material attached to a motorcycle.
