Lahore experienced significant disruptions today as heavy fog covered various regions, leading to the closure of several sections of motorways and national highways. The fog, persistent in the plain areas of Punjab, posed challenges to daily life and created obstacles for road traffic.

According to a spokesperson for the motorways, the following routes are currently closed to all types of traffic: Motorway M1 from Peshawar to Islamabad, Motorway M2 from Lahore to Kot Momin, Motorway M5 from Shershah to Rohri, and Lahore-Multan Motorway M3 from Faizpur to Darkhana.

Motorway authorities have advised drivers to seek alternative routes for their journeys and emphasized the importance of maintaining a slow pace while driving, along with the use of fog lights. In addition to road closures, low visibility has forced the shutdown of National Highways, further impacting travel in the region. Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely
