Due to contractual breaches, Emirates Cricket Board (ECB) has announced a significant penalty against the prominent batter, Usman Khan.

Following an extensive investigation, ECB found that Usman Khan had violated his contract terms and is now facing a five-year ban from engaging in cricketing activities within the country.

According to an official statement released by ECB, Usman Khan provided misleading information regarding his commitment to playing for the UAE team. Instead, he utilized the opportunities and resources provided by ECB to explore other prospects, displaying a lack of desire to continue playing for ECB or fulfilling the eligibility criteria he was obligated to meet.

Usman Khan notably participated in the ECB sanctioned International League T20 Season 2 earlier this year, competing in the UAE Category as a local player. Additionally, ECB had entered into an employment contract with Usman Khan for a duration of one year, aiming to provide him with stability and support in meeting the eligibility requirements necessary for representing UAE in international cricket. However, Usman Khan’s actions were deemed to be in breach of his obligations towards ECB.

As a result of these breaches, Usman Khan has been barred from participating in ECB sanctioned tournaments/leagues, as well as local events organized by councils/academies in UAE, for a period of five years.
