2 feet 8 inches tall Verne Troyer dies at 49, on Saturday. US actor Verne Troyer, after inspiring people around the world with his drive, determination, and attitude, died this last Saturday, according to his official social media accounts.

The post read, “It is with great sadness and incredibly heavy hearts to write that Verne passed away today,”.

The actor best known for his role as Mini-Me in the Austin Powers movies died at the age of 49.

The post announcing his death didn’t tell any cause of his death and the post spoke of the diminutive actor’s “recent time of adversity” with depression. The post noted that the actor recently got baptized.

The actor had struggled and won, struggled and won, struggled and fought some more over the years. But this time  he was unfortunate to lose his life while continuing with his struggles.

The diminutive actor was taken to the hospital early this month for some unknown treatment, and he spoke about his problems with alcohol during another hospital stay about a year ago.

Troyer was one of the world’s shortest men at just 2 feet eight inches (81 centimetres) due to achondroplasia dwarfism. He initiated his career as an actor by entering in show business as a stunt person in Baby’s Day Out (1994).

In an interview in 2012,  Troyer said that, “In 1993, I was working for Sprint in customer service, and a friend of mine who was the president of LPA — Little People of America — got a phone call from the producers of Baby’s Day Out, and they were wondering if there was anyone close to a stand-in size”.

He also said that hopefully they had searched worldwide and couldn’t find anyone to act in Baby’s Day Out and this was the reason that when they saw Troyer’s pics, they just came to meet him. He said,  “Two days later, they offered me the job, and I quit my job at Sprint.”

In addition to his breakout role as the evil Mini-Me in the 1st Austin Powers movie Austin Powers: The Spy Who Shagged Me, Troyer was also known well for playing Griphook in Harry Potter & the Sorcerer’s Stone.

Indeed, he was an extremely caring individual and wanted to make everyone smile, be happy and laugh.
