Chinese giant Realme ended up holding a product launch event on the 4th of January so as to announce its new GT2 series. Along with the details about the flagship Smartphone, Realme VP Xu Qi also ended up quoting a few figures which pertained to the performance that the brand ended up recording last year.

In accordance with what the official figures claim, global sales last year actually were in excess of 60 million units and Realme therefore ended up entering the top five smartphone brands in 21 countries, and ranked sixth all across the globe. The number of units which were actually sold last year showed a rise of 50% YoY growth and Realme hopes then that the growth rate would be stable this year as well, with a goal then of touching the 90 million units mark.

Also, it has indeed been revealed then that the brand is now the fastest growing 5G Android phone brands and also happened to have been the fastest growing company to cross 100 million units as far as sales are concerned, only further proving its prowess.

In addition to all this then, Realme also ended up highlighting an updated global layout goal, with China of course being the main focus but there was also indeed support coming in from the European market too. The company has gone on to record a triple digit YoY growth in the continent and it hopes to keep this up.

As far as technological innovation is concerned then, Realme actually claimed that the brand will in fact be spending 70% of its R&D expenses on high end technology research and development – proceeding on to strengthen the company’s software and hardware capabilities – and hence going on to enhance the overall product experience.
