Shan Masood is Pakistan’s most stylish opening batter. He has had an exceptional year in all formats. Shan has scored well in all formats and his limited-overs form has been exceptional.
Shan was once viewed as a pure Test batsman. But he has since transformed his game. Shan’s remarkable run in limited-overs is supported by the fact that he currently has the highest List-A cricket average among active cricketers. This puts him ahead of Virat Kohli and Babar Azam.
Shan has scored 4,540 runs with an average score of 57.46 over 95 innings in which he played 50-over cricket. Virat Kohli is next on the list with 13,753 runs and an average of 56.83 innings. Babar Azam of Pakistan, an all-format cricket captain, is third with an average 56.16 runs per 150 innings.

The cricketing community has been impressed by Shan’s performance and have urged Pakistan to include Shan in its limited-overs team. Shan is expected to be in Pakistan’s next Test squad. However, it is not clear if he will be in the management’s plans.
He is currently the captain of Derbyshire in England’s T20 Blast. He is currently the tournament’s second highest run-scorer, scoring 443 runs at an average 47.00 runs and a strike rate 139.60 over 11 innings. He is also the top-scoring County Championship player.
