Asia-Pacific ICT Alliance and Pakistan Software Houses Association announced that Pakistan will host the APICTA Awards for the first year.

The meeting of the APICTA Executive Committee with 16 members was held in Islamabad. They were informed that Pakistan won the bid for hosting the APICTAs Awards. This is a significant milestone in the history of Pakistan’s IT industry.

While appreciating Pakistan’s talent recognition, Chairman APICTA Jit Santok Singh stated that he anticipates more opportunities due to the knowledge Pakistan gained after hosting the awards. He stated that he was looking forward to an amazing event and hopes it will be worth the effort.

Badar Khushnood (Chairman of P@SHA) stated that the APICTA Awards are “Oscars of IT in the region.” He stated that Pakistan is moving from an industrial economy into a knowledge economy. Therefore, it is the right moment to show the digital and tech talents of Pakistan to the rest of the world.

Asia-Pacific ICT Alliance is an association of Information Communication Technology communities. It was established by members countries of the region. These communities join forces in a spirit of collaboration and form a network to promote innovation and develop ICT solutions for global markets. The APICTA Awards. It currently includes 16 member countries, including Australia and Bangladesh.

APICTA Awards were established in 2001 and have been a powerful tool for promoting the regional and local economy. The APICTA Awards have provided lucrative business opportunities for qualified Pakistan IT companies in the past.

Hosting the APICTA Awards will give Pakistan an opportunity to present its case for “Make in Pakistan”. Most APICTA delegations visiting Pakistan will be their first time. The 5-day event will host at least 200 international participants, including IT leaders and policymakers, entrepreneurs, foreign officials, researchers, and students.

Only those who have qualified through similar awards programs run by an authorized representative from each member country can be eligible to enter the APICTA Awards. P@SHA is the only portal for Pakistani IT companies, startups, or students to enroll in APICTA awards. Rules for jurors are very well-regulated. There is a mature judging system, and advisory judges who verify that the decisions are impartial.
