Veteran Pakistani all-rounder Shoaib Malik recent appearance at the Multan Cricket Stadium during a Pakistan Super League (PSL) match with his new wife, drama actress Sana Javed, garnered attention. The couple, who recently announced their marriage, surprised many fans who were still under the impression that Malik was married to Indian tennis star Sania Mirza.
This marks Malik’s third marriage, following his previous union with Ayesha Siddiqui in 2010. However, the presence of his new wife stirred controversy, with some of the crowd expressing discomfort, particularly through chants mentioning Sania Mirza. Javed’s reaction to the chants was evident, as she gave a stern look back at the crowd.

Despite the distractions, Malik showcased his prowess on the field, scoring 53 runs off 35 balls with an impressive strike rate of 151.43. However, his efforts couldn’t prevent Karachi Kings from suffering a 55-run defeat in their opening match of the PSL campaign.
Criticism has been directed at Malik, particularly from former cricketers like Abdul Razzaq, who labeled him as a selfish player who doesn’t prioritize team performance.
Looking ahead, the Karachi Kings will face off against the 2017 PSL champions, Peshawar Zalmi, at Gaddafi Stadium tomorrow, aiming to secure their first victory of the PSL season 9.
