The Pakistan Army has undergone significant leadership changes with the recent promotions of Major General Ahmed Shairf Chaudhry and two other generals to the rank of Lieutenant General, as reported by The News.
The reshuffle, although not yet officially announced by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), marks an important development in the Army’s high-level appointments. Alongside Major General Omer Ahmed Bukhari and Major General Inayat Hussain, Major General Ahmed Shairf Chaudhry has advanced to the rank of lieutenant general, signifying potential future leadership roles within the Army.

Sources reveal that the Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Asim Munir has appointed the newly promoted officers to key positions.
Lieutenant General Omer Bukhari has been assigned as Commander of the 11 Corps in Peshawar, while Lieutenant General Inayat Hussain will take on the role of Chief of Logistics Services at General Headquarters (GHQ). Lieutenant General Ahmed Shairf Chaudhry will continue his current responsibilities as the Army Spokesperson.
Lieutenant General Omer Bukhari was honored with the sword of honour during the 84 Long Course, reflecting his exceptional leadership qualities. Meanwhile, Lieutenant General Inayat Hussain, hailing from Hunza, was awarded the presidential gold medal for his distinguished service.
Before their recent promotions, Lieutenant General Bukhari and Lieutenant General Hussain served as the vice chief of the general staff at GHQ.
