A property dealer has been accused of raping a woman under the pretense of showing her a rental property in Lahore, according to reports that surfaced on Friday. The incident reportedly occurred in the Manawan area of Punjab’s capital city. Authorities say the suspect, identified as Naeem, allegedly lured the woman under the guise of visiting a rental property but instead overpowered and sexually assaulted her.
A case has been filed against Naeem following a complaint from the victim, Asma Sajja. SP Cantt Awais Shafique stated that police teams have been mobilized to apprehend the suspect, who remains at large. He assured that those involved in such heinous acts will be held accountable.
In a separate incident last month, a laboratory technician student is alleged to have raped a female patient at Gulab Devi Hospital in Lahore. The incident took place on July 13, and an FIR has been lodged against two suspects in connection with the assault.

According to the FIR, the 18-year-old victim, who is from Nankana Sahib, was undergoing treatment in the Amiruddin Ward of the hospital when the primary suspect, with the assistance of a friend, allegedly took her to a washroom and raped her. The accomplice reportedly stood guard outside during the attack.
Police have since arrested the primary suspect, and efforts are ongoing to apprehend the accomplice. Unfortunately, cases of sexual assault in Pakistan continue to occur at an alarming rate, highlighting a grave issue that demands urgent attention.
