Concerns over a potential venue change had sparked frustration within the England camp, with head coach Brendon McCullum expressing the difficulties the uncertainty had caused in team preparations. Speaking at The Oval ahead of England’s Test against Sri Lanka, McCullum said, “We don’t really know what’s happening in Pakistan, and it’s hard to select a team without knowing where we’ll be playing.”

Despite the concerns, Naqvi confirmed that the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) was fully on board with the arrangements. “The series will be held as scheduled, and we are in continuous contact with the ECB, who are satisfied with the venues,” Naqvi stated.
Looking ahead to future events, Naqvi also provided an update on the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to hosting the tournament. However, he acknowledged the uncertainty around India’s participation, which is contingent upon government approval. The PCB remains in communication with the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) and the boards of other participating nations regarding the matter.
