The Lahore High Court (LHC) has introduced a new smartphone app to keep the public updated on court hearings. Information regarding court proceedings will be available through both the High Court’s website and the mobile app. The project has been launched following the approval of Chief Justice Aaliya Neelum earlier this month.

Chief Justice Aaliya Neelum has delegated the responsibility to Additional Registrar IT, Jamal Ahmed, making LHC the first high court in Pakistan to offer this service. Other courts across the country may adopt this initiative in the future, but time will tell.

The mobile app will allow users to track court case hearings anytime and from anywhere, eliminating the need for frequent visits to the court. It aims to enhance transparency by providing real-time updates and reducing the reliance on phone calls or in-person visits to the court. The app will also make legal information more accessible to the public, especially in remote areas, and improve communication between courts, lawyers, and litigants. This should result in greater efficiency and cost savings related to travel and paperwork for case tracking.

Although the project is still under development, the app is not yet available for public use. Updates will be provided as soon as the app is released.
