Seasonal Illnesses Causing Confusion

Dr. Khan explained that overlapping symptoms of COVID-19, influenza, and seasonal flu might be leading to public confusion. He emphasized that the increase in respiratory illnesses during winter, including influenza and H1N1 cases, is typical and not a cause for concern.

Enhanced Monitoring Measures

  • NIH has strengthened nationwide surveillance to closely monitor COVID-19 and other respiratory illnesses.
  • A detailed update on COVID-19, influenza, and H1N1 cases has been submitted to the National Assembly for review.

The NIH reassures citizens that proactive measures are in place to manage seasonal illnesses and maintain public health.
