Power Division’s Justification

In a written response to the National Assembly, the Power Division clarified that such employee benefits are not exclusive to the power sector. Similar privileges are also extended to employees in other public and corporate sector organizations, including:

  • Pakistan International Airlines (PIA)
  • Sui Northern Gas Pipelines Limited (SNGPL)
  • Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC)
  • Pakistan Railways
  • Pakistan Telecommunication Company Limited (PTCL)

The division emphasized that free electricity is a standard part of the benefits package for employees in these sectors.
