Key Highlights of the Digital Nation Pakistan Bill
The National Assembly approved the Digital Nation Pakistan Bill 2025 a day before the committee’s meeting. The commission will oversee the implementation of the National Digital Master Plan, aiming to transform Pakistan into a fully digital nation. It will coordinate digital efforts among government bodies and have the authority to enforce the master plan. The bill also proposes the formation of a Pakistan Digital Authority, which will implement the plan, with members appointed for a four-year term. A Strategic Oversight Committee will be formed to monitor the authority’s performance, chaired by the relevant federal minister.
To fund the commission’s activities, a Digital Nation Fund will be established, allowing the commission to seek external assistance for expertise and resources necessary to achieve the digital transformation goals.
