Pakistan is set to hold its first-ever 5G spectrum auction between April and May 2025, as announced by Chairman of the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA), Major General (Retd.) Hafeez-ur-Rehman on Monday.

Speaking at a telecom event attended by Malaysian officials, the PTA chairman acknowledged delays in 5G deployment in Pakistan but assured that progress is now on track. Malaysia, which has already moved beyond 5G to 5.5G, shared valuable insights on implementing next-generation telecom networks.
