Karachi, Pakistan’s financial hub, witnessed another devastating fire incident, this time at a shopping center near Teen Talwar on Khayaban-e-Iqbal, where dozens of shops were gutted.

Fire Breaks Out in Clothing Stores

The fire started on the first floor in clothing shops before rapidly spreading to other stores. Rescue teams and firefighters quickly arrived at the scene and worked tirelessly to control the flames.

Shops Destroyed Despite Hours of Firefighting

Despite prolonged efforts, over three dozen shops were completely destroyed due to the intensity of the fire. Shopkeepers and store owners rushed to save their merchandise in an attempt to minimize losses.

Evacuation and Injuries Reported

Thankfully, no fatalities were reported. However, a firefighter and two shopkeepers were hospitalized due to smoke inhalation. Authorities evacuated the entire Karachi Tower, and K-Electric temporarily suspended power to the building to prevent further damage.

Investigation Underway

The first floor, home to hundreds of shops, was the most severely affected. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.

Shopkeepers Seek Compensation

Business owners affected by the fire have urged the Sindh government for financial compensation, as 35 shops were destroyed, and nearly 80 others were impacted.
