NEPRA Hearing Scheduled for February 26
NEPRA will conduct a hearing on KE’s application on February 26, 2024, to decide on the proposed tariff adjustment.
Government’s Recent Reduction in Electricity Prices
Earlier this month, the government reduced electricity rates by up to Rs1.23 per unit under the monthly fuel price adjustment:
✔ Distribution company (DISCO) consumers received a Rs1.22 per unit cut.
✔ K-Electric consumers saw a Rs1.23 per unit reduction.
The proposed Rs4.95 per unit reduction would further ease the electricity cost burden on Karachi residents if NEPRA approves the application.
