The Ramadan moon in Pakistan is expected to be born on February 28, 2025, but its visibility is highly unlikely, according to SUPARCO (Pakistan Space and Upper Atmosphere Research Commission).
Moon Visibility & Scientific Analysis
A SUPARCO spokesperson stated that the new moon will be born on February 28 at 5:45 PM PST. However, at sunset, the moon will be:
✅ Only 12 hours old
✅ At an altitude of 5 degrees, which is insufficient for sighting
✅ Just 7 degrees away from the sun, making it impossible to be seen with the naked eye

Due to these factors, the Ramadan crescent is unlikely to be visible in Pakistan on February 28. Therefore, the first fast of Ramadan is expected to be on March 2, 2025. However, the final decision will be made by the Ruet-e-Hilal Committee.
Ramadan in Saudi Arabia & Eid-ul-Fitr in Pakistan
On the other hand, the Ramadan moon is expected to be visible in Saudi Arabia on February 28, meaning that Ramadan will begin there on March 1.
As per SUPARCO, the Shawwal moon is likely to be sighted on March 30, 2025, which suggests that Eid-ul-Fitr in Pakistan may fall on March 31, 2025.
