The federal government is preparing to allocate Rs. 2,000 billion under the Public Sector Development Program (PSDP) for the upcoming fiscal year, according to official sources cited by NetMag. The primary focus of the allocation will be the completion of ongoing projects, with fewer than 100 new schemes expected to be introduced.

The PSDP for the next fiscal year is projected to cover approximately 650 development projects. During the current fiscal year, 230 projects are expected to be completed, while 168 projects will be removed from the program.

Additionally, the overall cost of the development portfolio may be reduced from Rs. 11,000 billion to Rs. 9,000 billion. Federal ministries have submitted proposals for new projects, which are now being reviewed by the Planning Commission for possible inclusion in the 2025 development plan.
