The federal government has officially declared Thursday, May 1, 2025, as a public holiday in observance of Labour Day, according to a notification issued by the Cabinet Division. This announcement is part of the annual list of public and optional holidays for the year 2025, released in a circular dated December 23, 2024.

All government offices, educational institutions, and most private sector workplaces across Pakistan will remain closed on May 1. Labour Day is observed globally to honour the contributions of workers and to promote awareness of their rights and working conditions.
