Pakistan’s Ambassador to Russia, Muhammad Khalid Jamali, has issued a stern warning, stating that the country will employ the “full spectrum of power” in response to any military aggression by India or disruptions to vital water flows. In an interview with Russia’s state television RT on Saturday, Jamali revealed that Pakistani intelligence has obtained evidence suggesting India is planning military actions against Pakistan.
“There are some other leaked documents whereby it has been decided to strike certain areas of Pakistan,” Jamali said, adding that this has raised concerns that an attack may be imminent. He emphasized Pakistan’s readiness to respond with both conventional and nuclear forces if attacked.
The ambassador also reiterated Pakistan’s stance on the Indus Waters Treaty (IWT), highlighting that any attempt by India to interfere with the water supply to Pakistan would be regarded as an act of war. “Any attempt to usurp the water of the lower riparian, or to stop it, or to divert it would be an act of war against Pakistan and would be responded to with full force of power, including full spectrum of power,” he stated.

Despite these concerns, Jamali called for de-escalation, underscoring the grave risks given the nuclear capabilities of both nations. “As both the countries are nuclear powers, there is all the more need to de-escalate the tensions,” he said.
In response to an attack in Baisaran Valley on April 22, India had accused Pakistan of a militant strike. The Resistance Front, a little-known militant group, claimed responsibility for the attack. In retaliation, India expelled Pakistani diplomats, reduced staff at the Pakistani High Commission, and closed its land border with Pakistan. Islamabad reciprocated with similar measures and called for “neutral and credible investigations” into the attack, urging the involvement of international powers like China and Russia in these investigations.
On the diplomatic front, India suspended visa services for Pakistani nationals and took further steps to cut trade ties with Pakistan.
