Security forces conducted multiple intelligence-based operations (IBOs) across Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa, resulting in the elimination of eight militants and the martyrdom of one soldier, according to a statement issued by the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR) on Monday.

The operations were carried out in North Waziristan, South Waziristan, Khyber, and Bannu districts, targeting suspected terrorist hideouts. In Mir Ali, North Waziristan, three militants were killed as troops launched a precision strike on their position. In a separate operation in South Waziristan, two more militants were neutralised.

Tragically, Naik Mujahid Khan, a 40-year-old soldier from Kohat, lost his life during an exchange of fire. ISPR hailed him as a “brave son of the soil” who fought courageously and embraced martyrdom in the line of duty.

Further engagements in Khyber and Bannu resulted in the killing of three additional militants. A cache of weapons, ammunition, and explosives was recovered from the operation sites. ISPR noted that the militants were actively involved in attacks against both security forces and civilians.

The statement confirmed that sanitisation operations are still underway to clear the regions of any remaining terrorist elements.

“The security forces of Pakistan remain steadfast in their mission to eliminate terrorism,” the ISPR declared. “The sacrifices of our brave soldiers will not go in vain and only strengthen our national resolve.”
