Pakistan has launched a retaliatory military operation named “Operation Bunyan-un-Marsoos” in response to recent Indian aggression, according to official security sources. The counter-offensive began in the early hours of Saturday, targeting key Indian military installations including a BrahMos missile storage site in Beas, Udhampur Airbase, and rendering Pathankot airfield non-operational.
India had earlier carried out airstrikes on Pakistan Air Force (PAF) bases at Nur Khan, Murid, and Shorkot. However, DG ISPR Lt Gen Ahmed Sharif Chaudhry confirmed in an emergency briefing that all PAF assets remained secure, and the majority of Indian missiles were intercepted. Those that bypassed Pakistan’s air defense systems reportedly caused no damage to PAF infrastructure.

Lt Gen Chaudhry condemned India’s “naked aggression” and warned that India’s increasing military adventurism is not only destabilizing South Asia but is also rooted in growing internal paranoia. He emphasized that Pakistan retains full electronic signatures of the missiles fired by India, which will aid in detailed assessments.
India also reportedly launched six ballistic missiles from Adampur, five of which hit areas in Amritsar, while one fell near its own base. DG ISPR criticized these strikes as reckless and suggested India was intentionally targeting Sikh-majority areas to stir communal unrest.
Explosions were reported in Rawalpindi near Nur Khan Airbase and in Lahore’s DHA area, prompting heightened security measures. Lt Gen Chaudhry, joined by senior military officials, dismissed Indian allegations of Pakistani involvement in the Pahalgam attack, challenging New Delhi to provide credible evidence and accusing Indian media of spreading disinformation.
Pakistan’s response, according to the military leadership, remains confined to defensive action against Indian positions targeting civilians across the Line of Control (LoC), while cautioning the international community about India’s attempts to provoke broader conflict in the region.
