Former U.S. President Donald Trump has expressed his willingness to mediate between India and Pakistan to help resolve the decades-old Kashmir conflict. This statement comes in the wake of a recently declared ceasefire between the two neighboring countries following a period of heightened military tensions.

In a post on his social media platform, Truth Social, Trump described the Kashmir issue as unresolved for “a thousand years” and emphasized his desire to work with both nations to find a lasting solution. He commended the leadership of India and Pakistan for their decision to de-escalate the situation and avoid further violence.

I am very proud of the strong and unwaveringly powerful leadership of India and Pakistan for having the strength, wisdom, and fortitude to fully know and understand that it was time to stop the current aggression that could have led to the death and destruction of so many, and so much. Millions of good and innocent people could have died!” Trump wrote.

He further claimed that the United States had played a role in facilitating the ceasefire and announced intentions to significantly enhance trade relations with both countries. This was Trump’s second public message within hours celebrating the ceasefire agreement, which came after a series of cross-border strikes between India and Pakistan.
