The Water and Power Development Authority (WAPDA) reported on Sunday that the country’s total usable water storage has exceeded 3.021 million acre feet, stored across major reservoirs including Tarbela, Mangla, and Chashma.

According to a WAPDA spokesperson, water inflow in the Indus River at Tarbela stood at 131,100 cusecs, with an outflow of 82,000 cusecs, while the reservoir’s water level reached 1,459.21 feet, storing 1.386 million acre feet. Mangla reservoir held 1.418 million acre feet at 1,142.30 feet, and Chashma stored 217,000 acre feet at 647.10 feet.

The spokesperson noted that water flow readings for major rivers are based on 24-hour averages, while others are recorded at 6 a.m.

At Mangla, the Jhelum River inflow was 52,400 cusecs and outflow 32,000 cusecs. Chashma Barrage received 143,800 cusecs with 114,000 cusecs discharged. The Chenab River at Head Marala had an inflow of 33,100 cusecs and an outflow of 13,700 cusecs. Meanwhile, the Kabul River at Nowshera recorded balanced inflow and outflow at 44,700 cusecs.
