The School Education Department of Punjab has updated its e-Transfer Policy 2024 to better accommodate female teachers, particularly those affected by marriage-related relocations.
Key Changes to the Policy (Effective May 9, 2025):
-
Married female teachers can now apply for a one-time transfer to their spouse’s district or workplace.
-
This provision is now recognized as a “hardship” case, enabling transfers year-round instead of fixed cycles.
-
Cross-district or division transfers will require coordination and a No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the concerned education offices.
-
Clear guidelines have been introduced to ensure a fair and consistent transfer process.
