Pakistan has achieved a major milestone in its digital journey, with mobile subscriptions across the country officially surpassing the 200 million mark. To commemorate this historic achievement, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has announced a celebratory event, scheduled for May 15, 2025, at the Prime Minister House, under the patronage of the Prime Minister.
Industry-Wide Celebration for 200 Million Milestone
The PTA is collaborating with licensed Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) and Mobile Device Manufacturers (MDMs) to mark the occasion with nationwide impact. In appreciation of their subscribers, major MNOs will provide free voice and data bundles on the day of the celebration.

To further enhance the festivities, the PTA has invited mobile device manufacturers to participate by donating 15 to 20 mid-range smartphones for a lucky draw during the event. This initiative underlines the industry’s commitment to closing the digital divide and expanding connectivity across the country.
Crossing the 200 million mobile user threshold is not only a numerical achievement but a symbol of Pakistan’s rapid telecom growth. Mobile technology now plays a vital role in enabling digital services such as e-commerce, online education, digital payments, and remote work. The upcoming event will both celebrate this success and highlight the future potential of mobile connectivity in driving national progress and inclusion.
As the telecom industry and citizens prepare to celebrate, the event stands as a powerful tribute to the transformative role of mobile technology in Pakistan’s development story.
