Bread, Naan, and Paratha Prices May Rise as Flour Costs Surge

The Naanbai Association has warned of an upcoming increase in the prices of bread, naan, and paratha due to a sharp rise in flour costs. Flour and fine white flour sack prices have jumped by Rs300 to Rs500 in both wholesale and retail markets.

Shafiq Abbasi, President of the Naanbai Association, stated that the cost of a 79kg red flour sack has gone from Rs5,250 to Rs5,750, reaching Rs5,850 after transport and handling. Fine white flour sacks have also increased from Rs6,400 to Rs6,700.

If flour prices are not reduced, tandoor owners may raise rates next week. A Price Control Committee meeting has been scheduled to address the issue.
