Pakistan Surpasses 200 Million Mobile Subscriptions: PTA Plans National Celebration
Pakistan has reached a major milestone in its digital journey, with mobile subscriptions surpassing 200 million—a historic achievement for the country’s telecom sector. To commemorate this moment, the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) has announced a special ceremony tentatively set for May 15, 2025, at the Prime Minister House, under the patronage of the Prime Minister of Pakistan.

In a collaborative celebration, Mobile Network Operators (MNOs) will offer free voice and data bundles nationwide on the day of the event, as a token of appreciation to users. Additionally, Mobile Device Manufacturers (MDMs) have been invited to participate by offering 15 to 20 mid-range smartphones each for lucky draw giveaways.
The event will not only highlight Pakistan’s rapid telecom growth but also showcase the industry’s role in bridging the digital divide, enhancing connectivity, and driving economic growth. From e-commerce and digital payments to remote learning and virtual work, mobile connectivity now underpins everyday life across the country.
The celebration promises to honor both progress and potential, marking a new chapter in Pakistan’s digital evolution.
