A Libyan pilgrim, Amer Mahdi Mansour Gaddafi, captured the internet’s attention after an extraordinary sequence of events ensured his participation in this year’s Hajj in Saudi Arabia.
According to reports from Gulf media, Gaddafi was initially denied boarding due to a last-minute passport-related security issue. Despite the setback and the plane departing without him, Amer refused to leave the airport, determined to fulfill his religious obligation.
In a bizarre twist, the aircraft returned shortly after takeoff due to a technical malfunction. While airport officials asked the pilot to let Gaddafi board, the request was refused, and the flight took off again—still without him. However, fate intervened once more, and the plane was forced to return a second time due to yet another technical issue.
