Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has expressed strong concern over the sharp rise in chicken prices across the province.
During a high-level meeting held in Lahore on Wednesday, the Chief Minister directed relevant authorities to take urgent steps to stabilize poultry prices throughout Punjab. She also stressed the need for stringent monitoring of essential vegetable prices—particularly tomatoes, onions, garlic, ginger, green chilies, and lemons—ahead of Eid-ul-Azha.
Emphasizing the critical importance of price control during the festive season, CM Maryam stated that any increase in the cost of staple vegetables before Eid would be unacceptable. She issued a stern warning against artificial inflation caused by hoarding, vowing strict action against those responsible.
