A high-end restaurant owned by Indian cricket star Virat Kohli has come under legal scrutiny after authorities registered a First Information Report (FIR) against the establishment for breaching public health and anti-smoking laws under the Cigarettes and Other Tobacco Products Act (COTPA).

The action followed a routine inspection on May 29, during which police discovered multiple violations of COTPA guidelines. Notably, the restaurant was found allowing smoking in non-designated areas and lacked a mandatory designated smoking zone.

Initially, a non-cognizable report (NCR) was filed, but the authorities later secured court approval to upgrade it to a formal FIR. The restaurant’s manager and staff have been named in the complaint, while Virat Kohli himself has not been included in the FIR.

The restaurant management and Kohli have yet to issue any official statements. Meanwhile, the case continues to attract public interest as the situation develops.
