Lahore endured another blistering day on Tuesday as temperatures soared to 45°C by 4:20 PM, according to real-time updates from Zoom Earth. This heat spike comes shortly after a searing Eid-ul-Adha, during which the city recorded a high of 46°C — marking one of the most intense heat events in recent memory.

Geo News, citing data from the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), confirmed that Lahore is currently experiencing its hottest weather spell in nearly 20 years. The last comparable record was set in 2007, when Lahore Airport recorded a scorching 48°C.

The heatwave isn’t limited to Lahore, as extreme temperatures continue to blanket large swathes of the country. According to Zoom Earth, the following temperature highs were observed in other cities:

  • Sibi: 48°C

  • Turbat: 47°C

  • Jacobabad & Layyah: 46°C

  • Multan, Faisalabad, Jhelum, Bahawalpur, and Lahore: 45°C

  • Peshawar: 44°C

  • Islamabad: 42°C

The ongoing heatwave has raised public health concerns and underscores the urgent need for climate resilience planning across Pakistan.
