Islamabad experienced light rainfall on Saturday morning, offering residents a welcome break from the intense heatwave that had gripped the capital throughout June.

Earlier this month, the city recorded temperatures soaring up to 45°C on June 11, marking one of the hottest days in Islamabad’s history. The brief morning rain brought a refreshing change and a sigh of relief for many citizens enduring weeks of scorching weather.

Social media was abuzz with posts celebrating the cooler weather, including one by user @iwaseemmalik, who shared a video with the caption, “After an extensive heatwave, Islamabad is finally enjoying this refreshing morning ❤️.”

According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department, pre-monsoon rainfall is expected across several cities, including Rawalpindi and Islamabad, from June 20 to June 23. The Met Office also forecast that the extreme heat is expected to gradually ease during this period.
