The Pakistani Rupee (PKR) posted a modest recovery on Friday, ending its five-day losing streak against the US Dollar (USD) and recording gains against the British Pound (GBP) and several other major currencies.
Throughout the day, the interbank rate hovered around 284/$ before closing at the same level. In the open market, USD rates ranged between Rs. 284 and Rs. 288, with some counters quoting Rs. 289 in Islamabad. The GBP traded between Rs. 385 and Rs. 390 across various exchange outlets.

By day’s end, the PKR appreciated by 0.04% or 10 paisas, closing at Rs. 284.46 against the dollar. Despite the improvement, the rupee has depreciated by 1.97% against the greenback since the beginning of the current fiscal year.
