To compensate a so-called organic sensor which was launched by the Panasonic earlier this year, now the company has unveiled a camera to go with it, “AK-SHB810”. Well, the great news about this camera is, it will be the world’s first to pack an 8K organic sensor.

According to Panasonic, it will feature a “wide dynamic range” in comparison to the regular CMOS cameras, and packs a global shutter that records the whole image at once, eradicating self-styled “jello” or rolling shutter.

The new 8K camera an ‘organic’ sensor comes with no rolling shutter and a wide dynamic range, allowing cameras better dynamic range and low-light sensitivity.

For your information, an organic sensor has two layers (an organic photo conductive film and separate circuit) as compared to regular single-layer CMOS sensors.

This organic sensor will allow Panasonic to integrate high-speed noise cancellation in the circuit, while escalating light-gathering powers in the organic light-sensing layer.

Moreover, it will certainly allow better dynamic range, even if you’re shooting in situations with a lot of contrast, such as stadium in bright and intense sunlight with the audience sitting in the stands, Panasonic said.

On the other hand, the best thing is as long as the shutter is higher than 120th of a second; the whole sensor is read instantly instead line-by-line like in a DSLR or mirrorless camera. Therefore now this “global shutter” can thus remove rolling shutter effect, which skews vertical lines on fast-moving objects.

Surely it’s good news for camera fans. Despite the fact that it’s basically a reference machine, Panasonic aims to start selling the device in the fall of 2019.Although the price is unknown yet but probably it would be a lot.

But, the technology should start seeping down to consumer products in the long run, yielding cameras with much better dynamic range that execute better in low-light situations without rolling shutter.
