As reported by foreign media outlets, Tesla has submitted a new application for 59 million dollars (currently about 397 million RMB) in order to build a tooling shop inside its Texas super factory, just a week after it submitted an application to expand its Texas super factory, according to foreign media reports.
This building is expected to cover an area of more than 107,000 square feet, the construction is expected to begin on January 30, and it is estimated to be completed by February 19, 2024. Tesla said in the application documents that the building will cover an area of more than 107,000 square feet.
There are five factories for Tesla, namely the New York Gigafactory, the Shanghai Gigafactory, and the Berlin Gigafactory, which will all be manufactured in Texas. This will be Tesla’s fifth factory after the Nevada Gigafactory, New York Gigafactory, Shanghai Gigafactory, and Berlin Gigafactory. There are currently only Model Ys being produced in the assembly plant.

Tesla CEO Elon Musk has said that in addition to producing the Model Y, the factory will also produce the first Cybertruck electric pick-up truck and a Semi electric semi-trailer truck.
Franz von Holzhausen, Tesla’s chief designer, recently announced that the design of the Tesla Cybertruck electric pickup has been completed and will begin production within the next few weeks.
Tesla just submitted a permit application to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation for the purpose of expanding the Texas Gigafactory on Monday, January 9. In the filing, the company indicated it plans to spend $717 million on four projects at the site, covering 1.4 million square feet, that will begin construction this month and be completed early next year. Construction on the projects is expected to begin later this month.
