Pakistan’s automotive scene is set to be electrified with the upcoming arrival of Deepal, a new electric vehicle brand from Master Changan Motors. The spotlight is on two exciting models – the Deepal S07 SUV and L07 Sedan – recently spotted undergoing testing in Karachi.

These EVs pack a punch with a long driving range. Their 68kWh battery promises over 530 kilometers on a single charge, nearly double the range of an Audi e-tron. Thrill seekers will appreciate the 250 horsepower engines, capable of accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in a swift 6.9 seconds.

Deepal isn’t going it alone. Tech giant Huawei is on board, providing the vehicles’ infotainment system powered by Harmony OS 4 running on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 8155 platform. Additionally, CATL, the world’s leading battery manufacturer, equips the Deepal with their reliable batteries.

When it comes to size, the Deepal L07 Sedan falls in line with the Hyundai Sonata, measuring nearly 4.8 meters long. The Deepal S07 SUV offers more width than the Santa Fe and Fortuner but sits slightly lower. Both models boast stylish features like frameless doors (S07) and a sporty fastback design (L07).

While Master Changan Motors hasn’t confirmed an official release date, rumors suggest a launch within the next two to three months. This news has certainly sparked excitement among Pakistani car enthusiasts, eager to see these electric newcomers hit the road.

The collaboration behind Deepal is particularly noteworthy. Changan’s partnership with Huawei for the in-car technology raises the bar for driver experience. Harmony OS 4, developed by Huawei, is known for its user-friendly interface and seamless integration with other Huawei devices. This could potentially translate to a more connected and personalized driving experience for Deepal owners.

CATL’s involvement is equally significant. As the world leader in battery manufacturing for several years running, their battery technology is known for its reliability and efficiency. The Deepal’s impressive range of over 530 kilometers is a testament to CATL’s capabilities. This extended range could be a game-changer for Pakistani consumers, potentially reducing “range anxiety” – a common concern for those considering electric vehicles.
