The Punjab Department of Excise, Taxation, and Narcotics Control has discontinued the 5% discount previously granted for online property tax payments. Taxpayers who opt for online property tax payments will now need to pay the full amount.

However, a new incentive has been introduced: taxpayers who settle their property and vehicle token taxes by September 30, 2024, will be eligible for discounts. Specifically, a 5% discount will be available for full property tax payments, while a 10% discount applies to vehicle token tax submissions made by the deadline.

The Director General of the Excise, Taxation, and Narcotics Control Department has mandated that all tax targets for the first quarter of the new financial year, spanning from July 1 to September 30, be achieved. In response, excise inspectors and field staff have been instructed to increase their efforts through daily recoveries and field visits. Consequently, the Rawalpindi Excise Department’s five zones have ramped up their tax recovery operations.
