To commemorate Pakistan’s 77th Independence Day, the Ministry of IT & Telecom, in collaboration with the Pakistan Telecommunication Authority (PTA) and the Universal Service Fund (USF), has launched a groundbreaking initiative to enhance connectivity and public services in Balochistan. National Roaming Services have been introduced along the Makran Coastal Highway, marking a significant step forward in bridging the digital divide in the region.

The initiative was unveiled during a ceremony held at the PTA headquarters, the result of a collaborative effort between USF, Jazz, and Ufone, under the leadership of PTA. The event was attended by key figures including Shaza Fatima, Minister of State for IT & Telecom, Major General (R) Hafeez Ur Rahman, Chairman of PTA, Muhammad Naveed, Dr. Khawar Siddique Khokar, Members of The Authority, Mudassar Naveed, CEO of USF, Aamir Ibrahim, CEO of Jazz, as well as representatives from Ufone and the PTA team.
This initiative aims to provide much-needed telecom services to underserved areas, offering not just a technological upgrade but also serving as a crucial public service effort by the government of Pakistan. The improved connectivity along the Makran Coastal Highway is expected to significantly benefit the people of Balochistan, particularly those residing in remote regions.
