Iran has reportedly launched over 400 ballistic missiles targeting Israel, causing air raid sirens to sound in Tel Aviv and other regions. Iranian state media confirmed a missile strike on Tel Aviv, the commercial hub of Israel, but offered no further specifics.
The Iranian Revolutionary Guards declared the missile attack was in retaliation for the recent deaths of Hezbollah leader Hassan Nasrallah, Hamas leader Ismail Haniyeh, and Guards commander Nilforoshan. “In response to the martyrdom of Ismail Haniyeh, Hassan Nasrallah, and Commander Nilforoshan, we have targeted the heart of the occupied territories (Israel),” the Guards’ statement, as reported by Fars News Agency, announced.
The Revolutionary Guards also issued a warning that any retaliatory action by Israel would lead to further “crushing attacks.” They added, “If the Zionist regime reacts to Iranian operations, it will face devastating consequences.”
A senior White House official had earlier revealed that the U.S. had indications that Iran was preparing a ballistic missile strike against Israel and warned of significant consequences for Iran should the attack proceed. The U.S. is reportedly working closely with Israel on defense preparations.

Concerns about Iran’s response have escalated since an Israeli attack in Lebanon resulted in the death of Hezbollah Secretary-General Hassan Nasrallah. In April, Iran launched simultaneous missile and drone attacks on Israel after an attack on its consulate in Syria, leading to heightened tensions.
Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned Iran, stating, “There is no place in the Middle East where Israel cannot reach.” Meanwhile, the U.S. urged for de-escalation, with Secretary of State Antony Blinken confirming America’s continued commitment to defending Israel.
The Pentagon announced increased U.S. military presence in the Middle East, with additional warplanes being deployed and more troops arriving to bolster regional security.
