The Lahore Development Authority (LDA) intensified its crackdown on illegal commercial activities and fee defaulters, sealing 60 properties as part of its ongoing operations. According to an LDA spokesperson, the town planning wing targeted key areas such as Johar Town, Khayaban-e-Firdousi, and surrounding localities, sealing two dozen properties involved in unauthorized commercial use. These included popular restaurants, cafes, showrooms, food outlets, bakeries, and more.
The operation was overseen by Chief Town Planner-II Azhar Ali under the directives of Director of Town Planning Zone IV, Ali Nusrat.

Earlier efforts focused on Multan Road and Gulberg, where LDA teams sealed three dozen properties, including private banks, stores, travel agencies, clinics, laboratories, private schools, and offices. The Multan Road operation alone saw 12 properties sealed, while Town Planning Zone III in Gulberg shut down an additional 24 illegal commercial establishments. Chief Town Planner-I Asad Ul-Zaman supervised the effort, working in conjunction with Sidra Tabassum, Director of Town Planning Zones II and III.
The LDA emphasized that all affected property owners had been given prior notice before enforcement actions. The authority reiterated its stance on taking firm and impartial measures against illegal constructions across Lahore.
Additionally, the LDA, following Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz’s vision for a “liveable city,” launched an anti-encroachment drive led by DG LDA Tahir Farooq. The Enforcement Department conducted operations in Karim Market, Moon Market in Iqbal Town, and Scheme Mor, where illegal stalls and encroachments were cleared, leading to the confiscation of two truckloads of goods.
