Students in Punjab, Pakistan’s most populous region, organized protests in various cities in response to the alleged rape of a private college student. Students from the same college in Okara demonstrated along GT Road, while others protested outside the Punjab Assembly in Lahore, demanding justice and the arrest of the accused.
Although the victim’s family denied the incident, the allegations ignited widespread outrage among students, who chanted slogans and attempted to block roads. In response to the unrest, Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz established a high-powered committee led by the chief secretary to investigate the claims and provide a report within 48 hours.

Student organizations have intensified their demands for justice, prompting a heavy police presence around Punjab College to manage the situation. Patrols continued along GT Road as students sought the release of those detained and accountability for the alleged crime.
These protests underscore ongoing concerns about safety and justice within educational institutions, with students calling for immediate action against the perpetrators of violence.
