The Pakistani rupee (PKR) showed positive momentum against the US Dollar (USD) today, closing in green after opening trade at 279 in the interbank market.

The PKR remained stable throughout the day, closing at 278, and appreciated by 0.03 percent, gaining nine paisas against the US Dollar. In the open market, rates hovered between 278-281/$ during the session. On a fiscal year-to-date basis, the rupee has depreciated by 0.13 percent.

Additionally, the PKR gained ground against most major currencies during today’s interbank session. It appreciated by one paisa against the Saudi Riyal (SAR) and three paisas against the UAE Dirham (AED). Against the Euro (EUR), it gained 74 paisas, while against the British Pound (GBP), the gain was 81 paisas. The rupee also strengthened by 34 paisas against the Australian Dollar (AUD). However, it posted a minor loss of four paisas against the Canadian Dollar (CAD).
