Tensions between Pakistan and Afghanistan remain high as recent developments reveal coordinated airstrikes targeting notorious terrorists within Afghanistan.

According to international media reports, Pakistani fighter jets conducted airstrikes on Tuesday night, targeting a Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) training facility in the eastern Paktika province. The strikes reportedly targeted camps in the Murgha and Laman regions, eliminating high-profile figures such as Sher Zaman, Commander Abu Hamza, Akhtar Muhammad, and Umar Media.

While Pakistan’s armed forces and government have not issued an official statement, this marks the second attack on alleged TTP hideouts this year.

Meanwhile, Taliban-led Afghan authorities confirmed the airstrikes but alleged that civilians, including children, were among the casualties. Details of the incident remain limited as of now.

The airstrikes coincided with a diplomatic meeting in Kabul, where Pakistan’s Special Representative for Afghanistan, Ambassador Mohammad Sadiq, met with Afghan Foreign Minister Amir Khan Muttaqi to discuss strengthening bilateral ties. The meeting follows heightened tensions between the two nations over Pakistan’s concerns about TTP activities on Afghan soil.
