The Federal Board of Revenue (FBR) has issued a Letter of Intent to Honda Atlas Cars (Pakistan) Limited for the purchase of 1,010 Honda City 1.2L CVT vehicles. The total estimated cost of the procurement is Rs. 6 billion, with the purchase planned in two phases.
Payment Details
FBR has committed to an upfront payment of Rs. 3 billion, covering the full cost of 500 vehicles and a partial payment for the remaining 510 units. The remaining balance will be cleared upon delivery of the first batch of 500 cars. According to FBR, the first payment will be made after the receipt of a pre-receipted bill.
Delivery Timeline
The delivery of vehicles is scheduled between January and May 2025. FBR will initially receive 75 cars in January 2025, followed by 200 vehicles in February, 225 in March, 250 in April, and the final 260 units in May.
Value-Added Features
The procurement agreement includes several complimentary features for the vehicles, such as:
- Navigation system with a reverse camera
- High-grade interior
- Free periodic maintenance for up to 20,000 km or 12 months
- Extended warranty of four years or 100,000 km
Additionally, FBR has requested the installation of a tracking system in each car, which includes a one-year service charge and a discounted renewal fee for subsequent years.
