The Balochistan Cabinet, led by Chief Minister Mir Sarfraz Bugti, has approved the advertisement of vacant government positions from grades 1 to 15 to promote employment within the province. This initiative is part of broader measures to strengthen governance and service delivery.
In a session held at the Chief Minister’s Secretariat, the cabinet also authorized the immediate release of current wheat stocks to the open market to ensure stable supply and prices. However, it decided not to make additional wheat purchases at this time, aiming to preserve strategic reserves.
Significant funding of Rs. 140 million was allocated for the Quetta Safe City Project, with directives to complete the initiative by June. The project aims to enhance public safety through advanced surveillance and monitoring systems.
The cabinet strongly condemned India’s accusations following the Pahalgam incident, emphasizing Pakistan’s readiness for a transparent investigation and warning that India’s confrontational posture could endanger regional peace.

Ministers also expressed sympathy with the victims of the Nushki tragedy and praised the swift actions of emergency responders. To address smuggling in the province, immediate countermeasures and a comprehensive inquiry into the Nushki incident were ordered.
In a series of legal and administrative reforms, the cabinet approved the creation of a special court to protect the property rights of overseas Pakistanis, amendments to the Anti-Terrorism Act, and the formation of a Center of Excellence for Countering Extremism.
Other reforms included improved benefits for civil servants and employees, new environmental regulations such as the Ship Recycling Law, measures to eliminate bonded labor, and legal protections for individuals with disabilities.
