Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif has directed authorities to provide free medical treatment to patients returning from India due to the recent surge in bilateral tensions between the two countries.

Amid rising geopolitical strain, several Pakistani patients undergoing treatment in India were forced to return without completing their procedures. In response, the Punjab government has stepped in to ensure these individuals receive necessary care, particularly those in need of organ transplants or suffering from critical diseases.

CM Maryam Nawaz emphasized that no patient returning from India would be left without care, stressing that the province will bear the full cost of their treatment. She instructed the Punjab Health Department to make arrangements immediately.
