Soomro Bheel, a primary school teacher and minority wing leader of the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP), was killed in an axe attack on Thursday in the village of Jinhan Junejo, located near Naukot in the Mirpurkhas district.
According to police sources, Bheel was initially transported to the Taluka Hospital in Naukot following the assault. Due to the severity of his injuries, he was referred to Civil Hospital Mithi in Tharparkar but succumbed to his wounds while being transported.

Bheel’s son, Sooraj Bheel, stated that his father was returning home when unidentified assailants ambushed him with axes. A First Information Report (FIR) has been filed at Wajono Police Station, and investigations are underway to identify and apprehend the culprits.
The incident has sparked concern among the local community and raised questions about the safety of minority leaders in the region.
